Before going in Albania, we were in touch with Eleni Laperi, art critic and curator, founder of Lindart, to prepare our research trip. In Tirana, we were guided through our 4-days journey by her young colleague Alketa Kurrizo. She works for the Lindart association, and on the Project 5.6.
We did meet some artists and saw their most recent and significant works. Also, we discussed with some directors/coordinators of local cultural structures.
We gained a clear understanding of the current state of contemporary art in Albania through the discussions that we had with the artists, but also with Alketa Kurrizo and Robert Dragot, an Albanian artist living in Belgium.
