"Kokabolana", that stands for "exchange" in linguala language, is the first section of the reflexion made on the cultural and artistic relationships between Africa and Europe.

This exhibition has two parts. The first part, is based on the University of Liège collection of african pre- colonial objects from Congo. These different objects:  jewels, music instruments, masks, amulets, weapons had been collected by Doctor Charles Firket from 1891 to 1920. In parallel to the ethnologigal part, a selection of contemporary artworks is presented. Artists from Zaire, such as Vuza N’Toko and Maître Syms showed their naive paintings, tainted with engagement, made in the 80's - 90's in Kinshasa at the end of reign of Mobutu.

The curator of these exhibition was Alain Delaunois, a belgian journalist and art critic.
